Cases fell 15.7% in 18 months, from April 2020 to October 2021, the steepest decline in the series. The Canada Emergency Response Benefit ran from March to September 2020, followed by the Canada Recovery Benefit until October 2021. By December 2022 the caseload was 20,451.
